Mountain Ministry

내가 한가정이라도 이 곳에 사는한  계속 오겠다고 했더니 clap clap ^^;

praise God !

Mountain ministry Journal (February 26-27, 2010)

08:30 am, February 27, 2010, ptr. Sung suddenly called me saying let’s go to mountain, it was kind of shocking to me because I was not expecting it; but because the pastor said so, I just obeyed. I called for the students who were still left  in the dormitory and thank God, I found Dorina. We started the journey at approximately 1:20 pm on that same day. We were expecting that the place we were going was just near because we started in the afternoon and pastor said we will have a service in the evening already. Dorina and I just looked at each other when pastor said, our destination was in Cervantes and we had to walk three hours to get there. We were so happy when the people in Butac, said that our car could reach Tagpeo, the barangay before Yogoc, which was our destination. The road was so rough that the car was having a hard time climbing, then here comes the situation I feared of, the car was stuck on the road and we had to put stones on the back of the tires so that it could move. Pastor tried three times and we had to push the car for additional force, I was just smiling with Dorina because we are both ladies and it was our first time to push a car really. We praised God because out of three times of pushing our car, we finally reached Tagpeo and we parked our car there.

6 pm, we set out for Yogoc and we had to walk 1 and a half hour, when we reached the church, it was already dark and the people was almost sleep, because they were not expecting this visit. Before, pastor said, there were 13 families living in that sitio and all were Christians, but when we went there, there were only 8-10 families left because the others went down to Tagpeo for their children to have an easier way to go to school. We started the service at around 8 pm, but because there was no current yet on that place, ptr. couldn’t read his sermon so he asked us to testify and Dorina just testified for almost 20 minutes and ptr. Sung’s preaching was more on testimony and the people gladly responded. Even though they were only few in that place they still continue to seek God in that church.

After a very cold evening that all of us almost didn’t sleep the whole night, we started to walk down back to Tagpeo for the Sunday morning service, when we arrived there, it was almost 10, and pastor Sung didn’t know where to go because the church was divided into two for some reasons we really don’t know. Pastor finally decided that he would preach first on the other group for 30 min. then we had to walk up and attend the service of the other group. That’s just what we did that Sunday, ptr, had to preach twice on the same place at the same day.

Even though it happened like that, we still praised God for He let us get through the whole mission and we can see that the people were also blessed just us how we were blessed, you can see it in their eyes, the joy of seeing brethrens who would walk this far just to reach them, though I can see that pastor was having a difficult situation because of the division of the church but we just continue to pray for them, cause only God could guide and direct their plans and we believed that all things work together for good to those that loved the Lord and those whom He has called according to His purpose.
