Strong Foundation (Mathew 7:24-27)

Today I'd like share the word of God entitled strong foundation  

And this is one of my best sermons 

Yesterday Ptr. Batacsil told me that 

our Building had sank 5 inches Dao. 

It means our building is not straight it is incline 

And he said there are some reasons why the Building is declining 

One maybe the foundation is not deep (I mean not strong) 

And maybe total of the people stay inside is too heavy 

(marami Tao in the dorm so it is heavy, 

Because this building is for residential only) 

May be soil is so soft because we are surrounded with creeks Dao 

But do not worry 

The building will not fall easily 

Any way now I'm thinking that 

When we finish our new building, dormitory will transfer there 

And as you know foundation of our new construction building is deep and strong 

This afternoon we have read the bible about wise man and foolish man. 

According to the bible, wise man built his house on rock. 

The rain came down. 

The rivers flooded it over and the winds blew against that house, 

but it did not fall. 

Because it built on rock. 

Because it has its' foundation on the rock. 

But the foolish man built his house on sand. 

The rain came down. 

The rivers flooded over and the winds blew against that house 

and it fall with a great crash. 

Now I'd like to ask you brothers and sisters, 

where would you like to build your house 

on the rock, or sand? 

Of course no one wants to build his house on sand. 

Who want to be a foolish man? 

Then, in today's term, How the Christian lives like a wise man? 

As we Christian, how do we make our foundation strong? 

1st, prayer. 

We need prayer 

Prayer is a conversation with God. 

Prayer is union of two loves, 

our love and with God's love. 

For example, if you love somebody 

You want continue to stay with your lover 

And continue to fellowship with him diba? 

In korea Kyungsang province man is reticent, not expressive 

When they come home from work 

Usually they said only 3words 

1st give me rice 

After eat he watch the TV. 

When he finished waltching TV 

2nd he said patay light 

And finally sleep na 

If the wife wants to talk with him 

and wife said "Honey how's today?" 

and husband said, "O give me a break I'm very tired." 

and no more dialogue. 

So wife angry 

You talk to me, talk something why are you not talking 

You don't have mouth why not talk 

And then husband said 

Go there, are you crazy (지라 울로까바) 

oh boy, That family will be problem. Later on 

Brothers and sisters my point is this one 

For the relationship, communication is very important 

If communication is absent. 

If they have no conversation each other, 

Their gab is betting bigger and wider. 

And later on it will be problem 

and It's the same with God. 

Prayer is a dialogue between God and us. 

If we stop to pray, no conversation with God, 

Then we become estranged (에스트레인지드) each other 

And we will be separated with God. 

That's why we have to continue to pray. 

we need a good relationship with God. 

Jesus says in Luke 22:40 "Pray that you will not into temptation." 

Yes, we need prayer. 

Satan couldn't get in as long as we pray. 

We will not get into temptation. 

In our school, in the morning we have devotion 

And afternoon we have a chapel service 

and after class we have prayer meeting 

that is because I want you to communicate very well with God 

but someone complain 

Schedule is so tight  

Almost patay… 

But brothers and sisters 

Even thou you are tired still you need prayer 

No matter what important jobs we have 

the most important time of our day is prayer 

You see Georgiana and Abraham 

If there is Georgiana and there is Abraham beside her 

Because they love each other 

They want fellowship all the time 

Like this, we continue to fellowship our God through prayer amen? 

And I do believe it will make our foundation strong. 

2nd Daily Bible reading. 

If prayer is speaking to God, 

Bible reading is listening to God. 

It's also important. 

Because the mind of God is here in the bible. 

The Bible is God's love letter. 

Ex) 연애편지 이야기 

Bible says in psalms 119:165, 

"Great peace have they who love your Law and nothing shall offend them," 

nothing shall offend us as long as we love God's word. 

Becoz God's word will secure our structure. 

Some one who grounded the Word of God, they not be shaken. 

Becoz their foundation is strong. 

But some one who never read their Bible, they are easily offended. 

When some little trouble comes, their structure is all disturbed. 

Just little breath of opposition their house is all gone. 

Because they have no foundation 

Brothers and sisters 

God's Word is food of our soul isn't it? 

We must feed our soul as a body. 

This body we inhabit for a day and then leave. 

We take care of it very well. We feed 3 times a day, 

and what is more ……Pansitcanton and bandisal… 

This body which one by and by going into the grave 

we take care of it very well. 

But inner man our soul (spirit) that is to live on and on and forever is lean starved. 

That's why a little trouble comes they are fell down. 

Brothers and sisters reading the Bible every day. 

If we daily feed up on the word of God, we will not be easily offended 

Becoz the Bible reading will make our foundation strong. 

  

3rd strong faith. 

For the strong foundation we need strong faith amen. 

I tell you one true story, 

In the Unite State, they have Niagara Falls 

And that river located between USA and Canada boundary 

One day, there's a guy who tied a rope on both sides of the river. 

And then, he crossed the river by walking on the rope. 

There was no trick. This is real. 

If he takes a false step, He could fall and die. 

Many people are surrounding there 

and watched him in breathless suspense 

One step, one step he is walking on the rope, 

finally he crossed the river successfully. 

Wow, they all cheered and gave him a big hand. 

After that he asked the crowd. 

"Thank you ladies and Gentleman and now 

I'll try to cross back this river again. 

 Do you think I can do it?" 

the crowd said "Yes" "do you believe?" 

"Yes we believe Show me one more time." 

"OK, then this time I'll try to carry one person in my shoulder 

And I will cross, is there any volunteer?" 

no one volunteered. 

A while ago the audience said, 

"Yes we believe you show us one more time." 

But when he wanted a volunteer, suddenly they were all silent. 

Any way later on a young boy volunteered. 

Soon they were crossing the river. 

The boy is on the man's shoulder 

and he crossed the river again successfully. 

and that boy was no other than this own son. 

The story is finished. 

Brothers and sisters often times we are like those audience. 

We cheer, praise to the Lord. We shout "Yes we believe to you" 

Yet when the Lord ask to us volunteer. 

We turn out back. We believe only by mouth not by action. 

Now we are talking about faith 

open the Bible in Psalms 37:5 

Commit your way to the Lord 

"commit your self to the Lord and place your confidence in Him." 

"Commit everything you do to the Lord. 

  Trust him, and he will help you.(New living translation)" 

That is the faith. 

Brothers and sisters 

Commit means giving or to entrust 

Commit means dedicate…. 

If we really trust God 

We could commit ourselves to him 

We could commit our way to God 

We could give everything to the Lord amen 

Like the young boy did. 

The young boy, he absolute trusted his father. 

Because he knows his fathers very well 

He knows his father is expert of tightrope walking 

So that he can risk even his life with his father. 

Brothers and sisters 

Is the Lord your final authority? 

Do you trust the Lord absolute? 

Then give our self to the Lord. He will save our whole life. 

That is the faith. 

Faith is giving, dedication, Amen. 

4th share God's love to others. 

For the strong foundation our Christian life 

We need loving minded 

I tell you one story 

When I study in bible school in Korea 

There is one Ptr. 

And all the student is respect him 

He has a big church 

He is a great teacher 

We know that he pray a lot 

Even he has lay hand power 

So most of student follow him and make him as a mentor 

And when we graduate Bible school 

One of my Alumni pioneering Church 

And of course it is mahirap(difficult) to pioneering church 

He don't have money 

And he don't have rice 

So he often fasting because there is no rice 

He getting thin 

So he decide to look his mentor 

If I go to him maybe I can get some rice 

And he went to him 

Ptr how are you 

Oh brother how are you and what are doing now 

And he said 

Ptr, I opend church 

And still it is mahirap 

For me it's ok because this is my way 

But I feel to sorry to my wife and my baby 

Actually we didn't eat for three days 

Can you give me some rice? 

And he said I'm sorry I cannot help you 

And he come to my house and says that 

We are so disappointed with him 

He didn't ask to buy guitar for the church 

He didn't ask to money for their renting 

He just ask to some rice because hungry 

And the rich ptr. Rejected that small favor… 

Brothers and sisters 

When you have ministry 

Yes, Pray is important 

Pray is very important for your ministry 

And be filled with Holy Spirit is important 

When you have ministry 

Preaching is also important for your ministry 

If preaching is weak your ministry will be weak 

But brothers and sisters 

The most important things in our ministry is love to others 

Do you believe God loves you? 

Do you also love God? 

Then you must share God's love to others. 

That's our responsibility to one another. 

If we continue to share God's love to others, 

we can expand the kingdom of God here in this world 

Bible says in 1st Corinthians chapter 13:1-3 

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, 

but have not love, 

I'm only resounding gong or clanging cymbal. 

If I have the gift of prophecy 

and can fathom all mysteries 

and all knowledge, 

and if I have a faith that can move mountains, 

but have not love, I am nothing. 

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, 

but have not love, I gain nothing." 

A businessman can be successful in his work even without love. 

Movie star can be successful even though they have no love. 

I mean You can succeed worldly business even with out love 

But as Christian 

But we cannot serve God unless we have love. 

Specially to be a ptr or For the ministry 

It is impossible you do it without love 

So beloved ABC student 

As I your president 

I emphasize that love to others 

When you graduate and go to the field 

Don't forget this one 

You need merciful mined 

If you have this mind 

I believe it makes your foundation strong. 

And you will never fall
