Christian Life (Cor. 10:31)

Welcome back to ABC which is the most exiting Bible school in the world 

it is good to see you again 

and we have many new student 

welcome to all of you 

as you know in this time we have new permanent campus 

and new school year 

so i want all of you to study with new heart 

let us pray 

Father we blessed your name 

father we thank this afternoon 

and this is the time to listen to your words 

and as we listen to your words 

let your living words minister us 

and bless each every one of us 

father we thank you that you call us here in ABC 

and father when we study here 

strengthen us and empower us 

help us to accomplish this study oh Lord 

in Jesus mighty name Amen 

there is one student who study in slu 

but he is not really going to school nor study 

so one day I asked him "what do you live for 

and he replied "Ptr. I'm living because I can't die." 

Living in the world just because he can't die is terrible 

How pity it is to live just because he can't die 

how about you brothers and sisters 

what do you live for? 

why do you work? 

why do you come here in ABC? 

why do you make money? 

we should answer this question 

what do you live for? 

the answer is: 

as Christian, we must live for the glory of God Amen. 

why do we make money? for the glory of God 

why do we go to school? for the glory of God 

why do we keep our health? for the glory of God Amen? 

Bible says in Isaiah 43;7 " 

everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, 

whom I formed and made." 

God created us to receive glory 

so we have to live for his glory 

then how do we live for the glory of God? 

1st fellowship with God 

in Korea we have a saying 

"when they drift farther apart from the sight  

then they drift farther apart from their mind" 

one time when I went to Korea and I met my elementary school alumni 

and we were glad to meet 

"wow friend longtime no see" 

how are you?  I’m fine thank you and you 

where do you live what are you doing~ 

and have nothing to say 

because no fellowship (walang) communication with each other for a long time 

it is the same with our God brothers and sisters 

if you do not fellowship with God regularly 

we have nothing to say to God 

that is why, we should keep on having fellowship with him 

we have to meet him continually 

do you know how to make good fellowship with God? 

attend church regularly 

that is one way of good fellowshipping with God 

keep on meeting him 

attend all the chapel and prayer meeting and you say "father I come here to see you" 

brothers and sisters 

if we are rich or poor is not important 

our position, high or low is not important 

we have to know this 

the most important thing in our life is to belong to God or not 

this is important 

say 'amen' those who belong to God 

May be all of you knows Zacchaeus story 

One of theologian says that Zacchaeus has no parents (dao) 

he grew up with his relatives 

and the people ignore him 

so he wants to be rich 

he wants to have a high position 

so he worked hard and played hard 

finally he got a high position 

he became a chief tax collector and became wealthy 

but he was not happy 

he thought, if he is rich, he will be happy but he is not 

he thought, if he has a high position, he will be happy but he is not 

but when he met Jesus Christ, he found a happiness and joy in his life 

so brothers and sisters 

Happiness does not rely on property 

happiness does not rely on position 

Jesus said to Zacchaeus 

"Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." 

and Jesus continue to say 

"Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham." (Luke 19;9) 

he became a son of Abraham 

he belong to God 

so brothers and sisters once again 

we can't buy happiness with money 

we can't buy happiness with position 

but we have joy and happiness when we belong to God Amen 

So the most important thing is our present address. 

belong to God or belong to the world? 

and i thank God because we are all belong to God 

so brothers and sisters continue to fellowship with God and live for His Glory 

the more you draw near to God then God also draw near to you amen 

2nd for the glory of God 

we should be a salt and light 

Bible says in the Matthew chapter 5;13 

you are the salt of the earth 

and you are the light of earth 

and verse 16 it says 

"that they may see your good works, 

and glorify your Father which is in heaven."(KJV) 

so, for the glory of our father God 

we have 2 mission 

mission of salt and mission of light 

and we have to fulfill our missions for the glory of God amen 

then what is the mission of light? 

 verse 16 "good work" 

be a good father, good mother , good student , good Ptr. 

may be some of you heard this terrorist incident 

a Korean church went to a mission trip in Afghanistan 

they were all 13 

and they were captured by Islamist militants 

and they deal with the Korean Government 

give me money 

then we will release them 

if not we will kill them all 

and the Korean government did not really deal with them and ignored what they want 

so they killed two koreano 

and then they said "give me money" 

if not we will kill them all one by one 

all koreano who were captured were in fear of death 

after that, the Korean government dealt with them positively 

and few days later they released two koreano. lady among them 

and there is behind story 

the Islamist choose one lady whose name was lee Jiyoung 

but she said it’s okay for me, you release others first instead of me. 

mamaya nalang ako, you release my friend first 

you know they don’t know when they kill her 

she is in danger to Patay 

but she care others not herself 

this is good work 

I'm going to tell you another story 

there were 6 million Jewish died by the Nazis during world war 2 

but that time, only few Jewish died in Holland 

they died but not marami comparing with other countries where Jewish people had lived 

you know why? because Holland people protected them 

you know how they protected them 

that time, all the Jewish have to wear yellow dress as a sign of being Jewish 

and most of Holland people also wear yellow dress 

so they don't know who is Dutch and who is Jewish 

this is good work 

Brothers and sisters 

as we live Christian life, we should do good work as God want 

because we are salt and light in this world 

when my wife cook bulalo 

she bought a knee bone of cattle and boiled it long time 

she do not put anything but only water and then just boiled 

when we eat the bulao it tasted flat (matabang0 

so we put some salt in the bulao soup 

then the bulalo became masarap 

because the salt has melted  

after that, the salt suddenly had disappeared 

because of salt, the bulalo is masarap 

but we do not say "oh salt is masarap" 

we say "oh bulao is masasap" 

salt is a spirit of sacrifice 

and we need this spirit 

there is tribal who lived in high mountains in Taiwan 

and they are cannibal you know cannibal (식인종) 

and, one missionary whose named Obong went there 

and he preach them gospel and teach them stop kill the people 

so they follow him 

and one day they wants to kill people for their food 

so they ask to ptr. Obong  "please allow us to kill people" only isang tao nalang" 

then Obong said to them ok i allow you to kill one person 

but this is last, after that never kill people again ok? 

and they said “ok” and missionary said 

“tomorrow 12 noon there is one people whose wearing red T shirts and without shoes, will pass by our village and you kill him” 

the next day 12 o'clock, there is really one people whose wearing red T shirts and no shoes who passed by 

so they killed him and check him but he is no other than Ptr.Obong 

they all cried and regretted but it was too late 

they lost their Ptr. Obong 

after that they never killed people again ( dao) 

this is the spirit of Salt 

and the spirit of salt is a spirit of sacrifice 

we need this spirit 

when we fulfill the mission of the salt and light at home 

our home will become united 

and when we fulfill the mission of salt and light in church 

Church will overflow with grace and love and we could give glory to God amen. 

Bible says in Corinthians chapter 10;31 

" so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the Glory of God" 

We need this spirit Amen 

Let us pray 

Father we thank you once again this evening 

Father we thank you for what you have done in our lives 

And father I pray that you continue to shower your blessing unto us in this new school year 

As we start in this new school year 

Father you bless each every one of us 

Help us to live in you all the time 

Help us continue to fellowship with you 

and use our life for your kingdom and your glory 

Once again I pray for the ABC 

Father you bless Asia bible college 

When we construct our new building 

We pray for your protection for all workers 

That no accident may occur during the construction period 

And we also pray that you pour out financial blessing 

So that the construction will be finished 

and Father you bless all the ABC student 

You bless them physically financially and spiritually 

while they study here in ABC 

Mold them and equip them as your instrument 

And use them more mightily for your purpose 

Thank you father thank you Holy Spirit 

Thank you father that you refresh and strengthen us today 

we give you all the glory honor and praise
