Thanks giving (Ephesians 5;20)

 this afternoon I will share a short message about 

“Thanks giving “ 

Ephesians 5:20 

always giving thanks to God the Father for everything,

 in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

Needless to say 

as Christian we have to give thanks to God for everything 

i tell you one story

Once upon a time 

There was a farmer 

He planted carrot and harvested plenty of carrot 

And the harvested carrot is of high quality 

So he thank the ruler and he offered carrot to the king 

“thank you king you reign over us well 

so that we have plenty of harvest so I offer to you” 

And the king said “You should be very proud” 

So I will give some present (pasalubong)

Is there something we have ? 

And some said we have carabao 

Ok you give it to him 

So he brought 1 carabao and went back home 

And one neighbor saw that and was jealous 

He only offered carrot and got a carabao from the king 

So if I offer carabao to the king 

He will give really nice gift to me 

So next day he brought his carabao and gave it to the king 

“thank you king you reign over us very well 

so that i have many carabao so I offer to you” 

And king said “You should be very proud” 

So I will give some present 

Is there something we have ? 

And some said  yes sir we have one carrot  

Ok  that is good you give it to him 

So he brought 1 carrot and went back home 

Brothers and sisters 

When we thank to God

Something happens in our lives 

Because God knows our true mind 

then what will happen when we thank to God 

No1, thanksgiving brings blessing 

When we thanks the Lord 

We plant a seed of blessing to God 

So when we thank God 10 times 

You plant 10 seeds of Blessing  

But if you complain to God 

You plant a seed of misery, and destruction 

  

Shall we say “Thank you Lord” 

Now you planted one seed of blessing 

Maybe you know Solomon 

Do you know what he did first 

when he became the king of Israel 

First, he offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar 

 (1st King 3;4) 

meaning, he killed 1000 animals 

anyway, these days there’s no need to kill animals 

when we give to thanks to God 

because today is not old testament day 

When Solomon offered burnt offering 

God came to see him 

And God asked him “What is your desire?” 

And he answered “Lord, give me the wisdom” 

And God was pleased what Solomon had asked for 

So God gave him the wisdom 

and God bless him and gave glory too 

Brothers and sisters 

Solomon was one of Kings among the 39 kings of Israel 

And he was the king who had most blessing from God 

You know why God blessed him like that? 

Because he knew how to give thanks and pleased God 

Brothers and sisters 

Giving thanks is the seed of blessing 

And I want all of you to plant the seeds of blessing 

not only today but everyday Amen 

One thing more when Solomon prayed to God 

God was pleased with what he asked for 

Brothers and sisters we have to know this one 

When we pray to God, our prayer should please God 

Then God will surely answer our prayer 

I have friend in Korea and he is Pastor 

When he was building his church he had a big debt(utang) 

So he bought lottery ticket and he prayed to God 

Oh God please give me a jackpot…… 

Of course God did not answer his prayer 

Bible says in James 4; l3 

When you ask you do not receive 

Because you ask wrong motive 

Brothers and sisters 

we have to know this one 

If our thought does not agree with God, 

that would not please God 

And that prayer will not be answered 

For example 

If your child ask you to buy pencil for studying 

Of course you will buy 

But if your son asked money for drinking tanduay 

Of course you will not give money 

When Solomon prayed to God 

He did not ask power of authority, 

He did not ask fame or something 

He ask God “wisdom”  

And that prayer pleased God 

And God answered his prayer  

And God added him all the blessings 

Brothers and sisters 

Like Solomon our prayer should please God 

Then God will answer our prayer and will bless us 

Giving thanks is the seed of blessing 

No2. Thanks giving brings victory. 

Brothers and sisters 

We give thanks giving today 

Because there is good things that came in our lives 

But Bible says Give thanks in any circumstance 

Meaning, not only good day 

But also difficult time we should give thanks to God amen 

We give thanks in every circumstance, 

whether it be victory or tragedy, loss or gain, joy or grief, 

we give thanks to God because He is with us right in the middle of it all. 

and He promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us 

and He’s given us the Holy Spirit as comforter and teacher. 

The Holy Spirit is incredibly active in ministering to our pain or loss.

Bible says that in all things God works for the good of us 

We have to know this one 

we are constantly under the superintendence of God 

So Whether Happy or sorrow, rich or poor, strong or weak 

We should give thanks all the time 

Bible says Psalms 50; 14-15 

Offer unto God thanks-giving and call upon me in the day of trouble I will deliver 

Meaning Thanks giving bring solution for our trouble 

Daniel Even he was thrown into the lions’ den 

Still, He prayed God with thanks giving 

That is why God delivered him from the hungry lions. 

Consider the prophet Jonah. He was in the midst of a problem as he sat in the belly of a big fish.

 In Jonah 2:9 he says,"But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you.

 What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord." 

Even when we are in the middle of great trouble, we must praise and thank God.

In Acts 16 we see Paul in deep trouble in Philippi. He was beaten and thrust into prison, 

and his feet were in stocks. Yet in verse 25 we read, 

"About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God." 

This is what it means to give thanks to God always.

as christian we should thank to God in any situation amen

We are to be thankful for all things-negative experiences 

as well as positive experiences, in sickness and in health, 

in poverty and in wealth, in prison and in freedom, 

amen

even ptr. sung angry to you thank God coz ptr sung angry to me

I tell you one story 

When I went to America last time 

I met friend ptr. In Atlanta  

before he is guapo but that time he is kalbo 

So I ask him where is your hair? 

And he said 

Because God loves me

now im Galbo 

you know,In Korea if a child is cute 

They pat his head “oh Guapo(X2) 

God always pat my head that is way I became Kalbo 

And I thank God because I’m kalbo 

No1 I can save soap ,sampoo, water when I take a bath 

No2 you know I never see a begger Kalbo 

No3 and many ptr is kalbo 

    David yonggi cho,  even Elisha, apostle poul is Galbo

No4. i can make God take a rest 

You know  God always count the number of our hair 

How difficult it is, but I’m kalbo so no need to count 

Brothers and sisters 

I’d like all of you to give thanks all the time, in any situation. 

Then God will protect us and give us victory Amen 

Thanks giving is the Main key to overcome all our circumstance Amen 

Ex)Jewish educate Star, moon, sun. heaven 

Now I will conclude my sermon with one Scripture 

When Jesus preached in the Galilee 

A large crowed listen to the Jesus 

And it’s time to eat 

But they have only 5 breads and 2 fish 

In the Bible John 6; 11 

He took the bread and thanks to God and distributed it 

And what’s happened to them? 

Everyone ate plenty and it was left over. 

When we thank God for the little we have, multiplication happens.   

Jeremiah 30:19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving 

and the voice of them that make merry:

 and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few;

 I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.    

Brothers and sisters 

thanks giving makes multiply 

thanks giving  makes miracle 

thanks giving  brings blessings

thanks giving brings triumph  

2 Corinthians 2:14

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, 

and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

be loved ABcians 

Let me tell you, what thanksgiving will do to us.

 First, when we begin to give thanks, our worries, fears, and murmurings disappear.

 All of a sudden the peace of God, joy, and courage appears, 

and God is glorified. God gives more blessings to thankful people.

and finally he will give us victory amen 

That is my experience. When somebody says thank you to me,

 I begin to wonder what else I can do for them. 

When we stop giving thanks, 

we are turning off the blessings. 

May God help us to overflow with thanksgiving always. Amen

All by means I want all of you have an abundant life through thanks giving 

God bless you 

Give thanks with a grateful heart 

Give thanks unto the Holy one 

Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son (X2) 

And now let the weak say, "I am strong" 

Let the poor say, "I am rich 

Because of what the Lord has done for us"  (X2)

Be joyful always;

pray continually;

give thanks in all circumstances, 

for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

father we thank you  you give us life

and thank you  all your blessing and your grace

thank you very much what you have done in our lives

and father grant us continue to enjoying into your grace and mercy

and help us continue to serve you in our lives 

once again we thank you to be with us 

to be our God we thank you for everything

for all these ,we give glory honor and adoration
