throw our thought and obey to God  (2nd kings 5:8-14) 같이 읽자 

When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his robes, he sent him this message: "Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel." 

So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha's house. 

Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, "Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed." 

 But Naaman went away angry and said, "I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 

Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than any of the waters of Israel? Couldn't I wash in them and be cleansed?" So he turned and went off in a rage. 

Naaman's servants went to him and said, "My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, 'Wash and be cleansed'!" 

So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy. 

As human being, we think we are smart and wise but not all the times 

Sometimes we are foolish than the animal 

When the tsunami happened in south asia in 2004 

before tsunami came, most of the animals knew already and ran away 

even the elephants were running towards the mountain 

even frogs were crawling alone and went to the mountain 

but people didn't know  what will happened 

they were even swimming, riding banana boat in the beach and all patay 

bible says in james 4;14 

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. 

yes we don't know what will happen even after 1 min. 

that is way they worry about tomorrow 

does animals worry about tomorrow? no, they do not,, 

only people worry.... anxious and later on loose their health 

people are foolish like this 

you know. most of animals when they eat, they only fill their stomach 70%, when food is filled 70% in their stomach, 

they stop to eat ( you eat some more )even baboy  they stop 

but people, cannot control themselves especially if there is masarap food 

even though their stomach is already full 

they still eat and eat... so the stomach is getting bigger like a balloon 

and finally they have upset stomach... 

I tell you one more story 

someone is walking painfully in the hospital 

and two medical student were whispering 

I think he is  a rheumatism patient  

the other medical student said, 

no it is not i'm sure he is lumbar disc not rheumatism.. 

no it is rheumatism no lumbar disc...... 

that time the patient came and ask to them 

excuse me where is the CR? 

sometimes we have a mistake like the medical students 

why we have a mistake it is because of our knowledge and experience 

bible says proverbs 23;4 

have the wisdom to show restraint 

brothers and sisters 

what is the christian life? what is the life of faith 

it is throwing, our method, our thinking and following God's method and God's thinking 

when we give up our knowledge we will know what is God's will for us 

when we give up our experience we will experience God's guidance 

meaning christian life is 

not to see God with our standard 

it is to see us with God's standard amen? 

bible says in Isaiah 55;8-9 같이 읽자 

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 

then where is the god's thought and his way 

here in the bible amen 

bible says in psalms 119;105 

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. 

today's passage, there is Naaman who is a commander of the armies of the king of Aram 

and he is the one blessed because he throw his thinking and follow what Elisha told him 

as you know he had a skin disease called leprosy 

but how to be healed from the disease ? 

No. 1 he had heard good new 

2nd kings 5;2-3 

"Now bands from Aram had gone out and had taken captive a young girl from Israel, and she served Naaman's wife.

She said to her mistress, "If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy." 

the young girl from israel said  "If only my master would see the prophet He would cure him 

and he heard the good news 

in today's term he heard the gospel... 

the young girl evangelized commander Naaman 

beloved ABC student 

we also should share the gospel to the others amen

as we Christians, sharing the gospel is our privilege and responsibility at the same time

So don't say, I'm too old, I'm too young to share the Gospel

we should share the good news to others, in season and out of season, Amen? 

bible says in romans 10;13-15 

for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 

there is no way to believe but hearing the word of god 

that is why we have to share the gospel amen 

bible says in luke 4;27 

And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed--only Naaman the Syrian 

how maaman was healed 

becaz he heard the good news amen? 

if the young israel girl didn't tell the good news 

maybe naaman was not healed but died in suffering 

like this, if we do not tell the gospel to others 

people will not be saved  

Custommer federation of america had made a research, who is a good salesman 

and there is an interesting report 

the question is how many times you try to sell your item to your customer 

48% of salesman persuade 1 time and if customer reject then give up 

25% try 2 times 

15% try 3 times 

only 12% try more than 4 times 

but 12% of salesman those who tries selling more than 4 times 

take more than 80% among total sales volume 

good salesman, they keep on trying to sell 

in the morning, if the costumer says no, then go back in the evening again and no tomorrow again 

and to evangelize is the same 

we should share the gospel in season and out of season amen. 

in the bible, there is a story about a lost sheep 

a shepherd count his sheep 1,2,3,4... 98,,99  and one is missing 

and shepherd looked for the lost sheep ..where are you ... wala ... never mind 

will he be like that ? 

no it is not, he will keep on looking for the lost sheep 

bible says in look 15;4 

"What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? " 

evangelizm is like this 

when you decide to evangelize someone 

you should keep on trying... amen 

So brothers and sisters, keep on sharing the Gospel to others

so that next time i come here, i can see more members overflowing at this place

no2 he throw his thought and obey 

commander naaman went to israel to meet Elisha 

but elisha just send a messenger and told Naaman to wash seven times in the Jordan River. 

Naaman was angry because he did not expect to be cured this way. 

You know, he is a commander, very high position and he has power and he is rich

One thing more, 

when he came here to meet Elisha,  he brought many gold and silver and cloth to give him as a gift 

and he thought Elisha would wave his hand over him and cure him. 

but he didn't apear to me and only send a messenger and tell me to go to Jordan river to wash there 7 times ???? 

how shameful it is, marami tao ay makikita ako (a lot of people will see me) 

He also thought the rivers in his country would be better than the Jordan River. 

he was so angry and he said this is not the way.. see the text verse 11 

But Naaman went away angry and said, "I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, 

But brotheres and sisters finally he decided to obey. 

When he obeyed what had been told to him, his leprosy was gone.  

brothers and sisters 

sometimes our thought be an obstacle to God's blessing 

our thought, our experience. our knowledge are hindrances to God's empowering sometimes 

Naaman throw his thought and finally got healed 

if he didn't throw his thought and not obey, he will not be cured.. 

and it is the same with our christian life 

many times we slip down because of our thought 

many times we block God's blessing because of our thought 

we live christian life with our thinking 

we believe God with our commonsense that is the problem 

throw our thought and follow god's thought amen 

throw our standard and follow god's standard amen 

david before he go to battle, he always ask god 

and god always answered him 

in bible 1st Sammuel 23;2" he inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go and attack these Philistines?" The LORD answered him, "Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah." 

david before he think he ask god's thought first 

peter when he fishing whole night but no fish 

then Jesus said 

Put out into deep water, and let down the nets 

and peter obey,  they caught many of fish 

abraham he don't know where to go when he leave his fathers house but he obey and God blessed him 

when elijah ask the widow last meal and widow obey and gave last meal then their meal never dry up

obey is the key to blessing 

obedience is the secret of victory amen 

shall we say obey the word of God 

bible says in deuteronomy 28-1 

If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 

I will conclude sermon 

do you know why cat and dog always fight? 

because they do not matched signal 

they have different code 

the dog when he is angry, he lowers down  his tail 

and when he is happy, he raises his tail 

but the cat is baliktad 

when he is angry, he raises his tail 

and when he is happy, he lowers his tail.. 

so when the cat see the dog's tail is down,

the cat think the dog is happy so let's play together and go to the dog 

but when the dog sees the cat is coming, with  a lowered tail

the dog think the cat is coming to fight 

so dog also prepare to fight 

so the dog put down his tail 

and the cat is confused, I come to play with you why are you angry 

and the cat raise his tail 

and dog is confuse too.. 

their tail keep on sa taas bababa... 

they cannot get along with each other 

it is the same with us, if our signal does not match God's signal 

then we are often confused. 

brothers and sisters 

your signal and god's signal is the same? 

put down our thought  before, god then we will know god's thought 

put down our way before god, then we will know god's way amen? 

Comander Naaman he throw his thought and obey as Elisha told him 

he was healed 

so I want all of you put down your thinking and obey the word of God then you  will have victory every day amen 

Almighty God, give us the trust and humility necessary for You to do great things to 

and through us. Like Naaman, help us to lay aside our pride and be cleansed. 

And make us bold to witness to your mighty healing power just like that little girl.
