Law of seeing (exodus  14:10~14) 

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD. 

They said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 

Didn't we say to you in Egypt, 'Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians'? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!" 

Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." 

father we thank you and and praise your holy name for the blessing of this afternoon 

we thank you for your faithfulness and lovingkindness 

and as we listen to your word 

I pray in the name of Jeus 

wash our heart with your living, purifying water. 

and fill us anew with your Holy Spirit 

give us victory for your glory 

thank you in jesus name 

Often times we follow what we see 

there was an eminent scholar in china

his name is Mencius

when he was young, they lived beside cemetery

so he would see funeral service everyday

and you know how he play with his friend ?

mimicking funeral ..crying ~~~~~

so his mother was thinking 

it is not good  to live here for his education

and they transfered downtown 

and they live beside market

so Mencius would see people, selling something everyday

and he would follow what he see, ‘Pasok kayo pili kayo….”

So his mother transfer again and they transfer beside school

After that Mencius started to study 

Because he sees people studying

And then he became a great scholar

Today i'd like speak the message intitled "the law of seeing" 

what are you seeing and how to seeing 

today's passage is a well known story 

At this point in history, 

the Children of Israel have been released from the strong hand of Pharaoh. 

God has delivered them from 400 years of slavery and oppression in Egypt. 

They had begun a new journey of hope and great expectation. 

But after traveling for a while they find themselves in a discouraging situation. 
suddenly King Pharaoh changed his mind and chased them with his soldiers 

and their road ahead was blocked by the Red see 

to the left is mountain 

to right is another mountain 

they were sandwiched

there is no way to go out 

They find themselves in a situation that seems hopeless.

As a result they go to Moses and cry out to him

it is better to be a slave in egypt 

why you bring out from Egypt and make patay here in desert 

they blame to Moses 

brothers and sisters 

people, if there is something good 

they get the credit 

dahil sa kin yan  

but if there is something wrong 

they attribute their failure to others 

ikaw kasi 

they don't like to take their responsibility 

and blame to others 

today we are talking about "law of seeing" 

and let us consider Moses viewpoint 

his reaction is different with the Israelites 

he is not afraid of King Paraohs' soldiers 

neither he do not blame to others 

he said "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today." 

he has different point of view 

brothers and sisters 

change our point of view 

change our seeing 

when we change our view 

we will see God's power working for us 

when we change our view 

we will solve our problem amen 

tell somebody, you have no problem that god cannot solve 

then how to change our viewpoint 

no 1 not to see the surrounding but the promise of God 

Israelites, when they were in crisis 

they see the surrounding 

their front is blocked by the red see 

and to the left is mountain 

to the right is another mountain

at the back pharaoh's soldiers chaise them

and they wera all afraid 

today's passage says 

the Israelites looked up at the Egyptians and they were terrified 

we are going to die.. we are going to die.. 

but Moses view is different 

he didn't see his surrounding but he sees the promise of God 

"I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people out of Egypt." 

moses hold in this promise and he told the people 

Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD 

brothers and sisters 

even our surrounding is mahirap 

don't be afraid 

fear is not from God 

it is from enimy 

bible says 2 timothy 1-7 

"For God did not give us a spirit of fear" 

if you’re operating in fear, 

you’re not operating in the power of God 

In spite of what it looks like 

In spite of what’s coming behind you. 

No matter how Pharaoh tries to plant the device of fear in your spirit, 

There is trouble:
On the left
On the right
In front of you
Behind you

You don’t know where to go from here

just stand boldly on God’s Promises 

Stand boldly on God’s Word… 

don't forget God is with us who is almighty and he will help us 

even there's no way, 

God will make a way and we will overcome 

we will have a victory for the glory of God amen 

do not see the surroundings but the promise of God 

look at Peter 

when he see Jesus, he walk on the water 

but when he sees the surroundings he began to sink 

brothers and sisters 

I know we have many difficulties 

many times high wave beat upon us 

but we have to know this one God is with us 

and he will not forsake us 

so hold unto this promise..  look at Jesus who is almighty 

do not see the surroundings but the promise of God 

he is with you.. he is with you..he is with you...and 

you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. 

no 2 do not see what is behind but ahead 

israelites when they are in crisis 

they fix their eyes on their past 

they looked back at their life in Egypt 

and said "It's better for us to serve Egyptians" 

Brothers and sisters 

sometimes we look back in our old days 

but I tell you, do not live in past 

I mean Do not tie down with your past 

sometimes our past is holding us hostage 

remember Paul says "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead"(phil.3;13) 

Ex) I meet some korean business men and they said 

when I stay korea ..... 

sobra he make too much out of nothing... 

see what Moses says at today's passage 

"The Egyptians you see today you will never see again." 

and there is meaning Egyptians is their old life 

life of Egypt is their past 

and God wants them forget their old life 

"The Egyptians you see today you will not see any more." 

and the Lord said to Moses "Tell the Israelites to move on." 

move forward not back ward 

God is all about deliverance and moving ahead. 

Faith is facing forward. faith is facing tomorrow 

do not long for your old days. 

Do not stick with your past 

We can never move forward, if we keep looking backwards 

past is past 

Let bygone be bygone 

And focus for tomorrow, live for the future 

we are free from captivity 

why still long for what you left in egypt 

change our focus 

change our mindset 

do not see what is behind but ahead 

when I go to mountain ministry I met ABC graduates 

and they said ptr. I miss ABC I miss ABC chapel 

I want to go back to ABC 

I told him you always ran away in chapel service 

now you miss chapel? 

do not  be absent in chapel. you will miss it 

no3 do not see my method but God's method 

Israelites when they are in crisis 

they see themselves 

you know? sometimes in our christian life, when we  have problem we make more problem. because we want to solve the problem by our power, our method 

see what moses did in today's passage 

"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." 

be Still. means literally, relax and take your hands off… 

In other words, do nothing and just see what God is going to do 

ex)ABC situation 

that time in my heart there is wispering 

I do not give up why you give up go on.. 

praise god 

youknow when I stop 

God will begin to move on my behalf… 

He’ll begin to work in the midst of our circumstances 

He’ll begin to operate in my favor 

nad now I know ABC will buhay.coz it is god's will 

you tell somebody 

"God's idea is better than us" 

I will finish the sermon 

one scientist said that "we usually see things that we are prepared to see" 

and it is true 

for example when we went to mountain last week 

and because of semester break many young people came to mountain, their home town 

when I see them I can see them all our future ABC student 

so I told them you come to ABC, you come to ABC 

but Dorina seeing is different,  Gwapo 

and you know what is Tintin's seeing?  

when we eat they always kill the native chicken 

tin tin always,she look for big chicken 

This happens in other areas of our lives. 

We see what we are prepared to see. 

if we are prepared to see negative things 

we will see it 

if we are prepared to see victorious things 

then that is what we are going to see  

brothers and sisters 

change our seeing 

change our angle 

this afternoon what are you prepared to see ?
