7 ways of keeping a powerful church

First of all, I would like to congratulate you

on your __ church anniversary foundation 

It is indeed an honor and privilege to be here

on your special occasion. 

May GOD continue to bless upon this church

and continue to use this church in winning souls

for the Glory of God

 

today i will share the word of God entitled Powerful church

 

if you have your bible shall we open it to the book of Acts chapter 2; 42~47 

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, 

to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, 

and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 

All the believers were together and had everything in common. 

Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.  

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. 

They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 

praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.

 And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." 

 

Father! we thank you this morning

and thank you what you have done in our lives

we thank you that your faithful to us everyday

and father this is the time to listen to your word

and I pray in the name of Jesus

Let Your Holy Spirit take full control of this service

Father, you anoint this service with your power 

and bless your people 

Thank You for your presence

in Jesus name we pray Amen. 

 

then how will we make the church become powerful

today I'd like to share with you

7 ways of keeping a powerful church

 

1st welcoming house

the church should be a welcoming house

When people come into the church,

they should feel comfortable

They should feel belongingness

People need Jesus, so we should open our door widely

-in welcoming people into the church.

Regardless of how they look, status, skin color

(rich, poor, fat, thin, short, tall)

we should always open our hands in welcoming others

into the house of the Lord

because Jesus died for all amen?

today's passage says

"All the believers were together"

they did not divide Ilocano or Tagalog

but All, they were together with

and they meet every day

but these days  people are very busy

Mahirap makaisa

내가 산에 갈때 -길없고 -전기 없고-아무때나 모여

-지금 잘 안모여-전기때문에 TV보려고

Brothers and sisters

God love us

so that he give up his divine privilige

and he made himself  nothing

he took a humble position

and became a human like us

and he shed blood for us

even he died for us on the cross

 

we should humble ourselves to God

and open our heart to others

 

especially, when someone come to church the 1st time

they are not stranger but Guest of God

so Smile at everyone and offer our hand

and take the initiative(이니씨티브)

we go 1st to them

and welcome them

make them feel at home

 

Can you say to the next person with smile

"I'm glad that you are here"

 

2. Worshipping House

the church should be praising and worshipping the Lord

Not just full of music

You can get music anywhere

If your music is not pleasing to God

Then God will not be glorified

(it is only noisy to God)

Many people think that praise and worship is

only singing songs at church,

but it is so much more!

Worship is an ｅxpression of love and awe to the God

who gives us more than we deserve.

 

so we express our worship

by singing, playing music, dancing

remember that we are called to worship God

so we must worship with spirit and truth

 

God is holy, loving, and worthy of all our worship

So churches should be full of praising and worshipping to God

And Praise and worship can bring God's presence

And touches heart

It can even change people

coz there is a power in praise and worship.

The Bible says that

God inhabits in the praises of His people (Psalms 22:3)

Praise Elevates us into God’s Presence and Power

praise is a victory.

Praise sends the Enemy Running

Whenever we praise, Satan flees.

같이 노래하자-

then sings my soul~~~

because he lives, i can face tomorrow

because he lives, all fear is gone

because he holds the future

and life is worth the living just because he lives

 

3. House of prayer

in the early church, they pray every day 

today's passage says 

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching

and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread

and to prayer." 

they met every day, not only fellowship, not only share bread

but to prayer as well 

every day they were gathering together and prayed 

brothers and sisters 

I really want this church to be a church of prayer 

and I want all of you to become men of prayer 

you know I'm not envious of those who has marami pera 

I'm not jealous whose driving a pajero 

but I envy someone who pray a lot. 

there is power in prayer 

without prayer, the church will not grow 

God does not guarantee those who do not pray 

there is no other way but prayer 

the most important thing today and tomorrow is prayer 

 

when David yonggi cho retired from the church 

one reporter asked him? 

what is the secret of your successful ministry ? 

and he answered " prayer' 

 

Specially Ptrs

 Ptr. is the leader-spiritual leader

No money no educational back ground ok lang

but Kulang spirituality is problem

water flows from high place to low place

our spirituality should be higher than the church member

 

pray every day so that our prayer

will accumulate in heaven

pray is the way of blessing 

pray is the way of growing 

pray is the way of empowering 

and i want this church -house of prayer

and i want all of you become men of prayer

everybody says

i will make my heart house of prayer

 

 

4. House of preaching the word

 today's passage says that in the early church 

The people devoted themselves to apostles teaching 

 

Today, we also need this power

when we preach the word of God 

if our message is strong, our ministry will be strong 

but the massage is weak, our ministry will be weak 

we have to know this one 

For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. (1cor 4:20)

This word(showing the bible) written by inspired of the Holy Spirit 

So without the power of the Holy Spirit

-we cannot understand this word. 

And we need this power 

Then the church will grow 

people will devote themselves to the preaching the word

and church will become powerful

if you listen all famous preachers sermon is simple

but there is power

5 House of healing

matthew 9;35  we can see 3 aspect of Jesus ministry

1) teaching

2) preaching

3)healing

divine healing is an integral part of gospel

Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement

and is the privilege of all believers.

 

As we know The early church was so powerful

and today's passage says that

"many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles"

and Bible says in acts 5;16 they heal all the sick people 

it says ‘all’ not ‘some’ it says all 

Even the handkerchief of Paul 

When Paul is not there,

they put his handkerchief on the sick people 

And they were healed 

Even the shadow of Peter’s 

When Peter’s shadow covered sick people

as he passes by, they were all healed 

You see, even shadow is useful in the early church.

and we have to know God's power is

same yesterday, today and forever

 (Mark 16:17-18)

 "And these signs will accompany those who believe

they will place their hands on sick people,

and they will get well."

병든 사람에게 손을 얹은즉 나으리라 하시더라

if you pray for 100 sick people

and even only 1 people really healed

that is already miracle

as we are Pentecostal,

our house should be a house of Healing

not only physical healing but also spiritual healing

and i want this church -house of healing

 

 

 

6. Giving house (the church should be generous)

in the early church,

All the believers were together

and had everything in common.

Selling their possessions and goods,

they gave to anyone as he had need. 

 

in other word  they love each other 

because of over flowing love

they met every day and share every thing 

How about you? 

Can you sell your house or lot

so you can help the poor people? 

(대답 안 하는 사람, 땅이 많은 사람,

웃는 사람, 땅이 없는 사람) 

brothers and sisters 

the church should over flow with love 

we should be bind by Christ love 

and we should unite and be in harmony with his love 

you know, even there is miracle and wonders 

if there is no love we have nothing 

Bible says (Pro. 10;12) 

Hatred stirs up dissension,

but love covers over all wrongs amen

 

the church should overflow with love 

Because; God is love.  

and what God wants is love. 

So practice love of God share his love to others 

Specially ptrs, we use to receive

one box citrus -ptr we harvest our citrus

so this is our love offering

ptr. we had been in Hongkong

and this is my pasalubong, oh thank you~~

we only recieve (3x)

so sometimes we think that receiving is just normal

we take some things for granted

but bible says Acts 20;35 '

It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

7. House of Joy (the church should be fun)

Outside people always have stress and pressure

So church should provide happiness, rejoice and laughter

The church should have a sense of humor

In Psalms 122:1 As King David confessed

"I rejoiced with those who said to me,

Let us go to the house of the LORD"

and today's passage says that they gathered together with gladness

brothers and sisters

Going to the Church should be rejoicing and exciting

Do not be too serious

Of course our mission is serious

But God's presence gives us strength and fullness of joy and gladness

keep on comming new member but old members are going out

why Ptr give stress members   

don't give stress them

coz they are already stress and pressure in world

so church should give them rejoice with happiness

We have to know this one even Jesus has humor

Mark. 12; 37 listened to him with delight

i want this church house of joy Amen

 

brothers and sisters

minister is not an easy job

you know if you have a nice car they will say

where did he get the money and buy such a nice car

and if you have old car they will say

what a shame our ptr. car is pangit

if you wear black clothes they will say

our ptr always go to funeral service

if you wear bright clothes

ptr. have a date with somebody these days

if your sermon is long

many member are bored and sleepy

if your sermon is short

maybe ptr. did not study these days

if your ptr. preach to other church

ptr does not care about our church

if ptr. does not preach to other church

our ptr walang power no body invite him.

 

brother and sisters

do not be conscious of what people say

do not look at the people but look unto God

just fix our eyes unto the lord

and follow our banner, God of victory

because God called us and we are his servant

and i tell you church members

you love your Ptr and support him

 

and lastly,  you know? we are the church

becoz we are temple of God

so let us apply these 7 steps in our life 

then we will have a victory in our life

we thank you for your goodness and loving kindness

you release your power to us now

and use us mightly for your glory and your kingdom

so we come to you now

we kneel down to you

we surrender to you lord

and your precious blood of Jesus

cover us now

 

and empower us

strengthen us with your power of the holy spirit

i speak deliverance come to now

i speak anointing come to now

if there is any hindrance

i rebuke them in the mighty name of Jesus

destroy the power of enemy -the evil spirit

cast them chain them into the recesses (리세스)

in Jesus name

we will conquer any hindrance

we will conquer any destruction

all the problem will go a way

all the frustration will go a way

all negative thinking will go away in the name of Jeus

I declare that we have a victory today

we speak we are winner and  victor 

we  speak the we have victory after victory

 

we thank you your touching

we thank you for the break through

thank you for the miracle

-that God move on our life

we thank you for your deliverance

Because he lives

I can face tomorrow

Because he lives

All fear is gone

Because i know he holds the future

And life is worth the living

Just because he lives

 

 

Father once again we thank you for letting us gathering here 

in your name and worship you and praise you 

and now i pray for this church 

father bless this church 

and make this church the church of prayer 

church of love and church of power 

 

continue to use this church  mightly for your glory and kingdom 

and bless all this church Ptrs and workers and members

Meet their ministerial and personal needs to overflowing. 

Provide richly to their emotional, spiritual, and physical needs. 

give them to victory for your glory and kingdom 

let every one enter ~~~

and I also pray for your blessing to be upon us all today and forever
