“The secret of Joseph’s victory ‘-Genesis 39:1-5

Today I’d like to share the word of God

In Titled “the Secret of Joseph’s victory “

Let’s open the bible with me “Genesis 49:22”

"Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, 

whose branches climb over a wall.”

Prayer 

 

We know  Joseph’s story very well 

Joseph (Hebrew-Yosef)-mean increase 

The nameJoseph in Hebrew is Yodef

And Yosef meaning is “add increase”

He was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers 

But He rose to become prime minister 

The second most powerful man in Egypt next to pharaoh

He revealed the glory of God in the foreign country

Brothers and sisters 

God wants everyone to prosper

And  to prosper is God’s will for us 

God wants us to be the head not the tail amen

And I want all of you have a victory like Joseph

Then how did Joseph had victory?

Why God gave him much blessings 

Let’s figure out together the secret of the Joseph’s victory today

1st Joseph was with God in any situation 

as we know , Joseph suffered a lot

Is anyone here  suffered as Joseph?

Joseph lost his mother when he was young 

And he grew up in a time of Jealousy and was hated by his brothers 

And later on he was almost PATAY

One day His brothers tried to bury him alive

But he was sold as a slave to the passing merchants 

And became slave in Potiphar’s house 

Even he went to jail because he was falsely accused 

And we have to know this one 

When he was a slave in Potiphar’s house 

He was with God -Genesis 39; 2 

And when he went to prison, the Lord was with him-Gen. 39; 21

He was with God in his desperate situation 

And that the Lord gave him success in everything he did

Joseph was always with God 

that is just motive of his victory amen 

this is what we call  “Coram deo “ life

Coram deo is Latin word 

Coram means before, deo means God 

So it means “in the presence of God" 

We should live in the presence of God 

We should live under the authority of God

We should live for the honor and glory of God 

This is coramdeo life 

Living coram deo brothers and sisters 

Psalms 16: 8 it says

“I keep my eyes always on the LORD.~~, I will not be shaken” X2

Be with God always like Joseph

We have to know this one 

No matter what happens God is with us 

so bring ourselves, to realize the continual presence of God, 

in happiness or in trouble.

then nothing can shake us

What am I afraid of, if I hold the hand of God

I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.

(Psalms 3;6) amen 

Be with God 

Walk with God 

Continue to have fellowship with God amen?

Then how to fellowship with God?

 By prayer 

bible says James 5: 3 " Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray."

if there is a trouble or difficulties -that is the sign to pray

Prayer is Face to Face Fellowship with God

And I tell you something 

When you pray to God 

Pray and  hold on the promise word of God 

This is Ptr. Ryu testimony –어릴때 너무가난 희망이 없어 

So she doesn’t want to leave her children in poverty 

매일기도= 십일조 8000$

So he  choose bible 눅2;40

“The child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, 

And the grace of God was upon him.”

사업축복 욥8;7 though you started with little, you will end with much.

병에 걸렸을 때 이사야 53:5 by his wounds we are healed.

트러블 있을 때

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

you know there is more than 7000 Promise of God in the bible

you make those promises yours by prayer 

God will not break his promise no matter what 

because that is the word of God 

so when we pray- hold on the promise of God -and pray

then God will answer our prayer 

remember God is with us always 

so fellowship with him by prayer 

live coram deo life everyday

live in the presence of God 

then God’s presence overcomes our fear, worry, 

God’s presence assures us that we have a victory 

2 Joseph tries his best all the time 

Suddenly he became a slave

But his life was not scattered 

He do not complain about his situation 

Coz complain solves nothing 

He adapted himself well to the changed environment

And he’s trying to do his best in Potiphar’s house 

And Potiphar knows He was a hardworking man

So Potiphar made him as a manager of his house 

The same in prison 

Even in the prison, he did not complain and he served his co-prisoner 

He really try to do his best in any situation why?

Because  he knew that God is with him  amen 

1st Samuel 10;7 Do what  must be done , For God is with you

Ecclesiastes 9:10 whatever the activity in which you engage, do it with all your ability

2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as an approved worker

Then

All things will work together for good to those who love God (Rm 8:28)

Do not say If the environment changes for the better, I will do my best 

Do not say I will do  my best later

결혼하면 /학교 졸업하면 /나중에 목사되면 /

Mamaya, mamaya later wala na 

this is we call "manyana" habbit (procrastination)

산에서 공부해라 나중에 /나중에/지금 애기가 3명 /후회

Some one says there is 3 kinds of person daw 

1st Quitter 

2nd Camper 

3rd Climber 

Quitter ; when they meet  the problem  they do not try to solve it 

Just avoid the matter /and give up

Camper ; 1st time they go up the mountain but when they meet  steep  hill side 

They said tama na I like this place and stop there.

 This is we call “complacent (컴플레이쎈트)attitudes”-무사안일 /현실만족

And climber; they have a challenge spirit 

In any situation they try their best 

And I want all of you be a climber 

Do your best right now like Joseph

don't say mamaya 

stop to waiting and waiting 

it is like Bethesda pool 

many disable and sick people are surrounding there 

and waiting, waiting  and watching for the water stirring /water is moving

with on their 매트리스

no change 

no develop

this life is stagnant

then Jesus come and say  one  sick people 

get up pick up your mat and walk 

brothers and sisters 

what are you waiting for ?

the water is moving?

Jesus wants doing something now amen 

If you are faithful to small things now, 

God will entrust you with great things amen 

‘옛날에 차없을 때 산족 선교”

no money 

no church invite me

no english

no as long as / do it your best now

don't say your place is not nice

do not blame your surrounding 

do not complain about your situation

don't make excuses becoz of this  and that~~~~

Joseph  tried his best even when  he became a slave 

Joseph  tried his best even when  he was in Jail

you know Joshua, he is a just the Secretary of Moses 

but he tried his best to support  Moses for 40 years in the wilderness 

and later on God used him mightily 

They went to war under the Joshua, they won Jericho’s battle and conquered Canaan 

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.(Phil. 4:13)

Satan always says that is impossible but Jesus says that is possible

Satan always says that is difficult but Jesus says that is easy

Satan always says you go back ward but Jesus says go forward amen 

In a difficult situation 

Do not be disappointed

Do not give up

And stand up

Try your best in any circumstances

Then we will have victory like Joseph amen 

3rd Joseph never fell in Satan’s temptation 

Satan continue to tempt Joseph through pothipa’s wife 

But Joseph was never persuaded

He kept the promise with God

He kept his faith

You know ? At that time 

It is impossible for a slave to break Master's orders.

But Joseph did otherwise

He was never shaken 

Although his status was slavery, he did not live as a slave 

He lived as a man of God

He kept the morality as a God’s child

He did not lose his identity

So that he was able to win the temptation 

You know 

it wasn’t a one time temptation. 

Potiphar’s wife tempted him day by day 

There is saying 

Joseph let’s sleep together 

No I can’t coz God is watching us 

Then Potiphar’s wife put statue of God opposite side 

Now God can’t see

And Joseh replied 

Maybe  your God can;’t see but my God can see

Coz he is everywhere 

How can I do evil when God is watching me? 

This is Joseph’s testimony 

So brothers and sisters 

Even when we are in a difficult situation 

Do not lose our identity

We are Christian 

Means little Christ 

So we have to act like God’s children in any circumstance 

Brothers and sisters 

This world is getting wicked and there’s a lot of temptation. 

These days Satan’s attack is stronger and more dexterous. 

The devil roams around like a roaring lion. 

And looking for someone who to devour. 

so do not give him chance to work

do not give the devil foothold

Bible says “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation.” (Matt 26;41)

therefore continue to pray not to fall into temptation 

be holy coz God is holy 

and holy is coming from above 

that comes from the word of God  

let’s open John 17;17 (this is Jesus prayer )

“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”

The word of God is truth 

And the word of God can sanctify us amen 

So in  order not to fall into temptation 

we have to have a constant connection with God

1st  by prayer 

2nd by the Word of God 

we have to know this one 

God use small vessel /plain vessel/even broken vessel 

but he will not uses dirty vessel 

God uses Clean vessels amen 

2nd timothy 2:21

"Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, 

made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work."

like Joseph,  I want all of you to win the Satan’s temptation everyday amen 

And last, secret of the Joseph’s victory 

Brothers and sister 

Spiritual maturity is becoming like Jesus in the way we think, feel and act. 

The more we develop Christ-like character, the more we will bring glory to God amen 

Meaning We have to throw old life and live new life in Christ  

We decrease concern of worldly things and we have to increase concern of heavenly things 

In other word we need  to feed more spiritually and we need diet worldly things 

I tell you one story about diet 

 

there is a plump woman 

so she want to diet 

and someone suggested to her of riding horse for diet 

so she ride horse every day 

after 3 month 

she checked her weight but still same weight 

but the horse she riding everyday became slim instead 

this is funny story 

but we need diet 

Check our mind 

is it over weight with worldly things? 

brothers and sisters  

feed more spiritually and diet worldly things 

we have to throw sinful nature 

envy, jealousy, greedy, gossips, lust and so on 

we have to throw it away which is against God 

 

another story i tell you 

my friend has a dog 

one day the dog went out and didn't come home 

so he look for all the way where are you / where are you~~~ 

but there is no dog 

and after 13 days the dog came back 

but it was very thin 

when he checked the dog 

his leg had wound 

my friend realized that the dog’s leg was trapped 

by a hunter’s trap in the mountain 

the dog tried to get his leg out of the trap 

but it couldn't’t 

the more he tried to remove, the more it hurts 

one day, two days, three days passed by 

he couldn't  eat anything because there were no food there 

and he was getting thin and thinner 

finally on the 13th day, he got free from the trap 

and was able to go home 

you know why the dog was getting thin and thin 

and finally he could remove his leg from the trap 

like this brothers and sisters 

if you diet spiritually, if you throw the worldly things 

then you will not trap Satan’s trick 

you will have a victory in this world 

And it will bring glory to God 

4th Joseph  had a dream 

Look at the Joseph’s life 

He is man of dream

When he was young he had a dream

He grew up keeping his dreams 

And when he was old -he realized his dream came true

Joseph’s 2 dreams, which is 

Bunch of grains bow to Joseph 

And the sun, moon, and 11 star bow to him 

Came to pass

Because it was the vision God gave him amen 

Philippians 2:13(new living translation)

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire 

and the power to do what pleases him.”(NLT)

When God is working in us 

1st ,He is giving us desire /dream /

So We must have burning dreams and desire 

Blessed are those who have a dream

You know ,Man of faith means man of dream

God wants us have a dream

Have a dream of your future life

Have a vision for your children 

Where there is no vision, the people perish

Without dreams, people wander 

Have a big dream brothers and sisters 

Be a man of dream

God promise us to give dream in these last days

"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. 

Your sons and daughters will prophesy, 

your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

(Joel 2;28)

Look at the vast land of the future 

The future belongs to the dreamer 

The land of the future has no master yet 

Everything in the future is vacant 

so challenge it 

have a dream and prepare for it 

The future belongs to the one who prepared 

Have a dream for the Glory of God

have a vision for the kingdom of God and his righteousness 

I pray that God fulfill your dreams like how He fulfilled Joseph’s dream

It is closing time 

As a man of dream, Joseph was blessed 

And became a channel of  blessing 

Where Joseph goes, there are blessings 

Because of Joseph, the house of Potiphar was blessed.

Because of Joseph people in the prison were blessed 

The blessings spread from Joseph to his surroundings.

And I want all of you to be a man of blessing

I pray that as you go, there is the wave of blessings 

If you have blessing 

U share your blessings to others 

Then more blessing will  come 

Amen 

Remember the secret of Joseph's victory. 

1,Joseph is always with God 

2,He tried his best in any circumstance

3,He was not deterred by the temptations of Satan. 

4,There was a burning dream in his heart

Remember these 4 secret of victory 

And these step I want all of you to have victory for the glory of God 

pray 

help us be with you always 

help us our best in any situation 

protect us Satan 's temptation 

and give us your dream and vision for your Glory and kingdom

and Give us victory 할렐루야 thank you Jesus  thank Holy spirit ~~
