Why God test our faith

let us open the Bible in James 1;2-4

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

Prayer ~~~

 

the bible says in Matthew 9;29 According to your faith it will be done unto you."

Hebrews 11:6. "Without faith it is impossible to please God."

Romans 14;23 "Whatever is not of faith is sin."

 

Today I'd like to share the word of God about "faith"

God wants us to have a strong  and steady faith amen

and today's passage says that God test our faith 

so that our perseverance will grow

and we will be mature and complete

 

then by what, God test our faith

Niv  version it says trials

and original Greek word is πειρασμός "Peirasmos"

and it has a 3 meanings Temptation  test  and trial

that is why

In the Bible translation, there are three different ways

niv version peirasmos  translated  Trial

NIV= Trials

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

 

KJV=Temptations

My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations; 
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. 
But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

 

 GWT=Test

My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways.
 You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. Endure until your testing is over. 
Then you will be mature and complete, and you won't need anything.

so someone says Peirasmos  they call 3T

then why 3T comes to us ?

 for testing our faith

 

you know actually God test our faith every moment of the day

Book of Job 7;17~18 it says

What is man that you make so much of him,

that you give him so much attention,

that you examine him every morning and test him every moment

 

yesterday our faith was tested

and tomorrow our faith will be tested

 

James goes on to say that testing is a blessing, 

because, when the testing is over and we have “stood the test,” 

we will “receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12).

 

Every day we have faith building opportunities

and i want all of you pass the  God's test 

and recieve the crown of life amen 

 

then How God test our faith???? 3T

Trial temptation and test 

So Today, I'd like to share with you about God testing our faith through 3T

 

1 Trials

while we live here in this world

many times we face trials

our road of life is not always express highway

sometimes it is lubac lubac

we will have trials

problems, difficulties, pressures, pain

and stress and so on

why?

because we live in a broken world

many problems we bring to ourselves

and sometimes other people bring on us

 

and we have to know this one

nothing comes into our life without God’s permission

there are no accidents in the Christian life  amen

evrthing come from God 

even Trails comes from God 

 

and Bible says 1 Peter 1:6~7

The trials come into our life  to prove our faith.

 

In both the Old and New Testaments, the words translated “test” mean “to prove by trial.” 

Therefore, when God tests His children, 

His purpose is to prove that our faith is real. 

Not that God needs to prove it to Himself since He knows all things, 

but He is proving to us that our faith is real, 

that we are truly His children, and that no trial will overcome our faith.

 

let us see . one more bible

Isaiah 48:10 "I have refined you though not as silver.

I have tested you in the furnace(퍼네이스) of affliction."

here furnace is very hot fire

and old days when they make knife

they tempered iron for making knife

they put it in fire and heat

after that they Panday with hammer

and they put it in the water to cool down

and again put it in the fire and panday with hammer

repeat this process again and again for making a solid knife

 

 

we are children of God
yet still God allow us to trials
to test our faith
to make us more valuable 
he tempering and mould us through trials
because God always wants us to be the best  amen

today's passage says it

Consider it pure joy... whenever you face trials of many kinds~

 

when you’ve got a problem rejoice

Take it easy.

do not complain but rejoice amen

even you complain trails will not go away 

Because I know that God is with us

God has a plan for us

and He’s going to help us through it.

God’s purpose is greater than the trials 

so that i could rejoice in this trials amen

and when we proven our faith is real

God will use us for His Glory and His Kingdom

 

 

2 Test

when we study in the school 

we have exam for evaluation

you study very well or not

it is like this

sometimes God also test our faith through test

 

many times God test our faith  through God's demands

God says to Abraham

"Leave your country, your people and your father's household

and go to the land I will show you."

 

and Abraham didn't ask

where am I go exactly ?

where is my destination?

he didn't ask

how am i going to get there

Bible says in Hebrew 11;8

by faith Abraham obeyed and went amen.

 

it is the same with Noah

when God said to Noah you build an ark 

 

and remember

Noah lived in the middle of desert

and that time there is no rain

it had never rained

Would you build an ark in the middle of a desert

when you’ve never seen rain and never seen a flood

just because God says so?

 

Noah did.

The Bible says, "By faith Noah built an ark." amen

 

and if God is saying something to you to do today for testing our faithi

we should obey amen ?

 we have to know it brothers and sisters

in the bible, in the new testament

There are more than 1000 commands for believers to obey.

 

some of them seem unreasonable.

Some of them seem inconvenient.

some of them seem impossible

but God demands to us 

Why?

because God wants to grow our faith.

Obey immediately.

When God says something,

Yes I will do it.

and obey the word of God

Whether I understand it or not, I will do it.

Whether it makes sense to me or not, I will do it.

Faith is following God’s leading without knowing 

where to go and what to do

just follow God's willwhen time pass by we will know that  everything was his plan to grow my faith and everything was a process to use me as His tool.

 

 3 temptation

 

i use to say to our bible school student

we have to be careful about 3 g

1st =girl

2nd =glory (self)

not for our glory but for the glory of God  amen?

meaning we should be humble always

3=gold = means money

and  Satan use to tempt us these 3 things

girl, glory (high position)-so that ptr sung always says humble your selves

and last one is money

 

and today we will consider only money

bible says in Luke 16:11

Jesus says this, "If you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth,

who will trust you with true riches?

What is Jesus talking about here?

he is teaching us how to handle money

The fact is that ,

what I do with my money really does determine how much God can bless my life

 

2nd Corinthians chapter 8 ;7 8  it says-누가 읽게함

"But just as you excel in everything--in faith, in speech,

in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us

--see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

I am not commanding you,

but I want to test the sincerity of your love

by comparing it with the earnestness of others."

 

if you see 2nd Corinthians  you will see Macedonian church

they are in the middle of difficulties

they are in the midst of extreme poverty

yet they gave big offering

you know their giving is beyond their ability

 

and  verses 7~8 Paul says to Corinthians

you have  more strong faith

you have more knowledge

you love more to God comparing with Macedonians

How about your giving?

 

here ,Paul compared the giving of the Corinthians Christians

with the giving of the Macedonian Christians?

He said

I want you to look and see what the Macedonians are doing.

Look at their sacrifice.

Look at what they’re giving to help the poor.

Look at what they’re giving to serve the Lord.

 

and here we have to know

that giving not only tests my faith it also tests the sincerity of my love.

How much I really love God.

there is one Philippines church

Pastor is very rich 

their house is like mansion

his car is new car

but church is very poor

church window is broken long time ago

church ground is not yet fully cemented

brothers and sisters

we should part with our money for Christ's sake 

 

so  while we live here in this world

there is 3T

trial, test, and temptation

they  are not meant to crush us, they are meant to establish us.

increase our faith

make our faith strong 

 

so that we when we met 3T

we have to endure it 

we have to overcome it

and if God say something to us- we have to obey 

then we will have victory in our lives
