Wise man and foolish man (Mathew 7:24-27)

This morning we have read the bible about wise man and foolish man. 

According to the bible, wise man built his house on rock. 

The rain came down. T 

he rivers flooded it over and the winds blew against that house, but it did not fall. 

Becoz it built on rock. 

Becoz it has its’ foundation on rock. 

But the foolish man built his house on sand. 

The rain came down. 

The rivers flooded over and the winds blew against that house and it fall with a great crash. 

Now I’d like to ask you brothers and sisters, 

where would you like to build your house? on the rock or sand? 

Of coz no one want to build his house on sand. 

Who want to be a foolish man? 

In today’s term, then How the Christian lives like a wise man? 

How should we live? 

Brothers and sisters every one wanna be wise man. 

But they are Build their house on sand. 

Many profess to be Christians But fail to live the Christian life. 

We pray and praise Lord every Sunday. 

But after we got out of the church, we live the same life with non-Christian. 

We live no different lives with them. 

Brothers and sisters 

we need strong foundation or else our structure will be destroyed easily. 

Now I’d like to deliver a message of God, which would make our foundation strong. 

1st, personal prayer. 

Prayer is a conversation with God. 

Prayer is union of two loves, 

our love and with God’s love. 

For example, a married couple. 

They also important conversation for their relationship. 

The husband comes from work and wife asks him about his day. 

“Honey how’s today?” 

and husband said, “O give me a break I’m very tired.” And no more dialogue. 

That family will be problem. 

If communication is absent. 

If there’s no conversation. 

Their gab is betting bigger and wider. 

It’s the same with god. 

Prayer is a dialogue between God and us. 

If you stop praying. It means no conversation with God. 

Then you will be separated with God. 

That’s why we have to continue to pray. 

So we will have a good relationship with God. 

Jesus says in Luke 22:40 “Pray that you will not into temptation.” 

Yes, we need prayer. 

Satan couldn’t get in as long as we pray. 

We will not get into temptation. 

In my country, all churches have a prayer meeting early in the morning everyday. 

We start our day our UMAGA by prayer. 

Before we go to work we attend church and pray. 

One thing more we have prayer-mountain. 

It’s like meditation. When they have difficulty, sickness or problem. T 

hey go up to the mountain and they pray there for several days. 

Brothers and sisters no matter what important jobs we have 

the most important time of our day is that personal time we spend with the Lord. 

When we go to bank, we need to line up and wait for our turn. 

Same in the hospital, 

we need t line up and wait for our turn, just see a doctor. 

But when you meet God our king of kings 

when we pray to the God our lord of lords. 

We don’t need to line up and no need to wait. 

There’s no busy signal on the prayer line to God. 

Anytime anywhere we can pray. 

And I do believe it will make our foundation strong. 

2nd Daily Bible reading. 

If prayer is speaking to God. 

Bible reading is listening to God. 

It’s also important. 

Becoz the mind of God is here in the bible. 

The Bible is God’s love letter. 

Ex) love letter. 

Bible says in psalms 119:165, 

“Great peace have they who love your Law and nothing shall offend them,” 

nothing shall offend us as long as we love God’s word. 

Becoz God’s word will secure our structure. 

Some one who grounded I the Word of God, they not be shaken. 

Becoz their foundation is strong. 

But some one who never read their Bible, they are easily offended. 

When some little trouble comes, their structure is all disturbed. 

Just little breath of opposition their house is all gone. 

Brothers and sisters 

God’s Word is food of our soul isn’t it? 

We must feed our soul as a body. 

This body we inhabit for a day and then leave. 

We take care of it very well. We feed 3 times a day, and what is more …… 

This body which one by and by going into the grave 

we take care of it very well. 

But inner man our soul (spirit) that is to live on and on and forever is lean starved. 

That’s why a little trouble comes they are fell down. 

Brothers and sisters reading the Bible every day. 

If we daily feed up on the word of God, we will not be easily offended 

Becoz the Bible reading will make our foundation strong. 

3rd strong faith. 

What is the faith? 

I tell you one true story, 

there's a guy who tied a rope on both sides of the river. 

And then crossed the river by walking on the rope. 

There was no trick. That’s real. I 

f he made a little mistake. He could fall and die. 

There’s many people watched him do it. 

Finally he crossed the river successfully. 

Then they all cheered and gave him a big hand. 

After that he asked the crowd. 

“I’ll try to cross back this river back. Do you think I can do it?” 

the crowd said “Yes” “do you believe?” 

“Yes we believe Show me one more time.” 

“OK, then this time I’ll try to carry one person in my shoulder and I will cross is there any volunteer?” 

no one volunteered. 

A while ago the audience said, 

“Yes we believe you show us one more time.” 

But when he wanted a volunteer suddenly they were all silent. 

Any way later on a young boy volunteered. 

Soon they were crossing the river. 

The boy is on the man’s shoulder and they crossed the river again successfully. 

That boy was no other than this own son. 

The story is finished. 

Brothers and sisters often times we are like those audience. 

We cheer, praise to the Lord. We shout “Yes we believe to you” 

Yet when the Lord ask to us volunteer. 

We turn out back. We believe only by mouth not by action. 

Brothers and sisters in the Bible Psalms 37:5 

“commit your self to the Lord and place your confidence in Him.” 

That is the faith. 

Commit our self to God we have trust in Him as the young boy did. 

The young boy absolute trusted his father. 

So that he can risk even his life with his father. 

Is the Lord your final authority? 

Do you trust the Lord absolute? 

Then give our self to the Lord. He will save our whole life. 

That is the faith. 

4th share God’s love to others. 

Ex) weather. 

As you know my country divided north & south. 

And by 1950 we were fighting each other. 

During the Korean War, People went to mountain or some safe place for refuge. 

That time there’s one American missionary. 

When he was crossing the bridge. 

He heard a crying sound of a baby. 

So he followed the sound. 

When he saw the baby under the bridge. 

The baby was freezing to death. But still alive. 

Beside the baby. The mother was lying down. 

 And she was already frozen to death. 

The mother was naked. 

Becoz she removed all her clothes and wrapped it all around the baby. 

That’s why the baby could still alive. 

She risked her own life for her son. 

The missionary took the baby and raises him. 

When the baby grew up. The missionary told him about his past. 

When he heard about his story. 

He went to his mother’s grave. And there he cried and cried 

“Mama, because of me you were dead Mama, how cold are you” 

And then he removed his clothes and placed it on his mother’s grave. 

Brother and sisters 

No body denies that the greatest love in this world is the parental love. 

God’s love for us is like this More than like this. 

There’s no comparison to God’s love. 

He gave us his only son our savior. 

Jesus Christ risked his own life for us. That’s how God’s love to us 

Do you believe God loves you? 

Do you also love god? Then you must share God’s love to other. 

That’s our responsibility to one another. 

If we continue to share God’s love to others, 

we can expand the kingdom of God on earth 

Bible says in 1st Corinthians chapter 13:1-3 

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, 

I’m only resounding gong or clanging cymbal. 

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, 

and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, 

but have not love, I gain nothing.” 

A businessman can successfully in his work even with out love. 

A singer can be successful even though have no love. 

But we cannot serve God unless we have love. 

So in order to become a successful Christian. 

We have to share God’s love to one another 

Brothers and sisters through these 4 ways, 

we can live victorious life. 

And I believe it makes our foundation strong.
