Double portion of your spirit

Today is a day of celebration. We are celebrating our graduates and their achievements. 

so today i congratulate all of you and May God bless mightly your family and your ministry 

and we have to know this one Graduation is not an endpoint. It is  another beginning.

 

and today i will share the word of God 

title is "double portion of your spirit"

and This is my prayer that God will use all of you more than like me 

 

today's passage is 2nd the book of kings 2 ; 9-10

When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, 

"Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" 

"Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit, " Elisha replied. 

"You have asked a difficult thing," Elijah said, 

"yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours--otherwise not." 

 

Father we thank you for this morning. 

We thank for your present 

As we start to listen to your words 

Let your holy spirit saturate and inspire us 

And bless each every one of us through your word 

In Jesus name amen 

 

Before Elijah go to heaven, he asked to Elisha 

What can I do for you? 

And he said “let me inherit double portion of your spirit” 

Elisha demanded to Elijah  

Give me double potion of your power, 

double portion of your anointing,

double portion of your honor (blessings)

As you know Elijah is teacher of Elisha 

Elisha is a disciple of Elijah 

And now he wants to surpass his teacher 

he wants to be better than his teacher

He wants more than Elijah 

be loved ABC graduate students 

now you are leaving in ABC

and now i tell you Brothers and sisters 

May God release double portion of Spirit over your life today

may God grant to all of you double portion of blessing today amen?

 

you study here in ABC more than 3 years 

and maybe you learn maythings from ABC teacher amen?

as you see 

we have here many great teachers in ABC

Ptr. 바기따이 / 다뚜 /파스토라 쉐렐 띠 골/ 올 라이버/  맘 닛쯔/  and ptr. sung

and i pray that may God use you more than like me 

may God bless to you more than like our teacher amen?

 

This is important 

you should have this will 

you know it doesn’t mean that you ignores your teacher 

 

Elisha asked double portion of His Spirit 

but he didn't look down upon his teacher 

of course he respect Elijah as his master 

he followed him to the last 

and desires to be like him 

 

but not only like him, he wants more than like him 

he wants to exceed his teacher 

and he wants to be used by God more than Elijah 

then Elijah responded, “do it more than me.” 

 

be loved ABC graduation students it is like this 

1st time you learn from your teacher 

1st time you should follow your teacher and your pastor

1st time you make them your mentor

and later on when you  go to the field 

i want all of you bea more than like us amen?

 

you know some says 

Mentoring is when someone who has “been there, done that” 

takes someone who is “getting there, doing that” under their wings. 

  

Meaning if you have mentor 

You can be like him faster 

Because you can make his experience as yours 

Even you can reduce failure or mistake 

 

You know, your teacher or ptr in your church took long time and build up his position 

Sometimes they failed, sometimes made a mistake  

and they stand up again and study and learn by themselves 

and they formed their character and their personality 

for a long period of time 

 

but if you make them as your mentor

you can make it within a short period of time 

because we  learned from your teacher 

that is why Disciples are able to be more than their teacher 

 

As Elijah was mentor for Elisha 

And he demanded double portion of power 

double portion of anointing 

 

do you have some  mentors among  ABC teachers and pastors 

then dont forget their theaching 

and you follow their good point

make them your mentor in your lives

make them your spiritual model

and follow them, be like them and exceed them amen 

 

we need models 

of course our model is Jesus Christ 

and we follow him 

but while we live here in this world 

we need who help us correct and advise us in a practical manner 

that is why we need our own mentor

you see his action and his speaking style it is the same with ptr. Baguitay

 

you know Ptr Pedro in Ifugao

he noted all my sermon and preached in his church 

every time i go ifugao 

Ptr what sermon will you preach today?

and i said this one no Ptr do not preach that one coz i preached that one already~

even he follow my hot temper

he has hot temper too

even he follow number of Anak 

i have5 anak and he have 5 anak

and he has 6 anak

more than like me

 

you know in Korea 1st popular company is Samsung

1st time they follow sony

now  Samsung is better than Sony

it is the same Hyundai 

1st time when they make a car 

they follow Honda

they even imitate the logo

but now Hyundai all most catch up Honda

 

once again bothers and sisters when you have ministry 

i want all of you recieve double potion of blessing 

and i want all of you more than like me 

and when you succeed your ministry 

just one time you invite me 

"Ptr this is my church" 

"Wow, now you are better then me"

and do not foregt love offering 

 

As you know apostle Paul met Barnabas after he had conversion 

That time Barnabas was a church leader 

He was the founder of Antioch church 

So he made him as his mentor and followed him 

and later on Paul exceeded his teacher 

people consider only Apostle Paul 

but Barnabas was the one who changed Paul from Saul 

Unknown Paul met Barnabas and later on he jump over his teacher 

and in the same way he was mentoring Titus and timothy 

 

and also Samuel, his teacher is Eli (일라이)

later on Samuel is more than Eli

 

We have to know this one 

Our life will be changed as to whom we meet 

Remember, our life depended whom we meet 

 

it is like taxi driver

his way (his destination ) depends on the passenger he meets along the way

for example he meet the passenger 

and he said go to city hall 

then he have to go to city hall

if passenger says go to market then he have to go market

 

sometimes it is the same our lives 

we go along with the people we meet

brothers and sister s 

it is good you study here in ABc

coz here you met good teachers good theologians good pastors 

and it will help your life and your ministry amen 

 

and today you leave here in ABC 

and when you have your ministry 

i pray that you will  continue to meet Good people  unto your life amen

and may God release double potiuon of blesing

double potion of anoinintinf over your life and your ministry amen?

youknow? If there is one of the most blessed men in this world,

it is a children of God and blessed by God.

 

David's confessed Psalms 23;6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, 

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever

as we know David had many hardships and sufferings,

but God's grace followed him and eventually made his life beautiful. 

 

remember this one 

No matter how blessed you are, you must be blessed by God. 
James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father

so continue to serve God 

continue to focus our eyes to Jesus Christ 

and Pray to God 

 

I tell you one true story and i will finishe my preaching 

 

In Korea we believe that if some boys come out January 1 

we think that he is lucky 

But if girl’s birth day is January 1 , we believe she is unlucky 

Someone was pregnant and gave a birth January 1 

So all the family said 

Oh please LALAKE but it was BABAE 

So the family was disappointed specially her father 

she was abused by the father every day 

her father spank her many times 

so that her mother send her to a Taekweondo institution 

so she can defend herself from her father 

she grew up with many sufferings 

one day her brother was against to his father 

“why you spank my sister” 

So they fight each other because of her 

And so she ran away 

To make the story short 

She went to USA 

And married with Americano 

Even husband treat her cruelly 

So later on she divorced him 

She had a really miserable life 

Story is not yet finished 

One day she went to church by herself for comfort 

And for surviving her life 

and she meet good ptr in USA

she became christian

she has a hope in her life 

later on She opened taekwondo institute  in her church

coz her ptr allowed open taekwondo instition in hthe church 

Because she was a black belter 

And finally she succeeded in her business 

You know what is her institute theme? 

“He can do it, she can do it , why can't I “ 

This is her taekwondo institute theme 

When she opened the institute 

Every day she go to church for morning prayer 

And prayed to God 

Lord, he can do she can do why can't i

He is happy she is happy why can't i

He succeed, she succeed why not me?

She prayed to God every day 

Now she is became rich 

She is among the list of 100 rich people in America 

 

Brothers and sisters you can do it 

He can do it she can do it why can't I 

he blessed she blessed why not me

he prosper she prosper why not me

he can succeed she can succeed why not me

 

Everything is possible to him who believes 

Lord, give me double portion of power 

Give me double portion of anointing 

God bless someone? Why not me he will bless me 

God anoints someone ? Why not me he can also anoint me 

God use somebody? why not me, he can also use me 

once again i congratulation for your graduating 

and i want all of you more than like me
