Thanks and blessing (Psalms 50; 14~15)

Some one has a horse 

And he trained the horse like this 

If he says, “praise the Lord, the horse runs” 

And if he says, “Amen, the horse stops” 

One day his friend came and borrowed his horse 

So he teach his friend how to handle the horse 

And the friend said “don’t worry man I’ m a good horse rider.” 

And he got the horse 

When he rode the horse and passed by downhill road 

He couldn’t stop 

He forgot what his friend had said  

He tried all the way to stop but it couldn’t 

So he started to pray to the Lord 

Oh Lord, help me, save my life in Jesus name I pray Amen 

Suddenly the horse stopped near cliff (precipice) 

So he gave thanks to the Lord “praise the Lord.” 

Then suddenly the horse started to run and fell down into the cliff. 

Today’s title is “Thanks and blessing” 

If we give thanks to God what will happen to us? 

Fall down to the cliff? 

Now let’s find out together what thanks bring to us. 

1st Thanks is the main key to overcome from difficulties 

When happiness or good things comes in our lives 

Perhaps we give thanks to God. 

But when we have trouble on God 

We tend to blame our trouble on God 

But brothers and sisters 

God is not troublemaker 

It is devil 

That’s why we Christian should thank God in any situation 

We should give thanks all the time 

Bible says that in all things God works for the good of us 

We believe that we are constantly under the superintendence of God 

So even we have trouble in our lives we should give thanks to God 

Even we are in trouble still god is with us 

Even we have problems still god is our hope 

Today’s passage says 

Give thanks and call upon me in the day of trouble I will deliver 

God will solve our trouble as long as we thank to the Lord Amen 

As we know Daniel is a person who is been faithful to God. 

When he was thrown into the lions’ den 

He didn’t hurt nor eaten by the hungry lions. 

How could it happen? 

Bible says in Daniel 6; 10 

Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed 

And giving thanks to his God just as he had done before 

He prayed to God three times a day with thanks. 

In the morning he pray to God with thanks 

In the afternoon he pray to God thank you Lord 

And in the evening he kneels down to God and pray again thank you Lord. 

It is not easy to pray like Daniel 

Even he is in the danger 

He kneel down to God three times a day and he prayed with thanks 

That is why God delivered Daniel from the hungry lions. 

Brothers and sisters 

As we human being 

When we are blessed we give thanks to the Lord 

But when we en counter difficulties in our lives 

We tend to blame God 

Our praise turn into complains 

Our thanks turn into blame 

The lips we use to pray and praise to God 

And the same lips we use to complain 

Brothers and sisters 

I’d like all of you give thanks all the time, any situation. 

Then God will deliver us from danger 

Giving thanks is the Main key to overcome our difficulties 

2nd Giving thanks is the seed of blessing 

When we thanks the Lord 

We plant a seed of blessing to God 

If you thank God 10 times 

You plant 10 seeds of Blessing amen? 

But if you complain 

You plant a seed of backward blessing 

You plant a seed of misery, a seed of destruction 

But we know that the thanks is a seed of blessing. 

Somebody will say Thank you Lord 

Now you planted one seed of blessing 

May you know the Solomon one of the kings of Israel 

Do you know what he was doing at first when he became a king? 

When he became a king of Israel 

First, he offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar 

before everything else. (1st King 3;4) 

After he finished 1000 burnt offering 

God came to see Solomon 

And God asked to him “What is your desire?” 

And he answered “Lord, give me the wisdom” 

And God was pleased that Solomon had asked for 

So God gave him the wisdom and God bless him and glory too 

Brothers and sisters 

Solomon was the one of Kings among the 39 kings of Israel 

And he was the king who had most of blessing of God 

You why god blessed him kike that? 

Because he knew how to give thanks and pleased God 

Brothers and sisters 

Giving thanks is the seeds of blessing 

And I want all of you plant the seeds of blessing everyday 

Amen 

One thing more when Solomon prayed to God 

God was pleased what he asked for 

Brothers and sisters we have to know this one 

When we pray to God  our prayer should please God 

Then god will surely answer our prayer 

I have friend in Korea and he is Pastor 

When he was building his church he has a big depth 

So he bought lottery ticket and he pray to God 

Oh God please give me a jackpot…… 

Of cause God did not answer his prayer 

Bible says in James 4; l3 

When you ask you do not receive 

Because you ask wrong motive 

Brothers and sisters we have to know this one 

If our thought does not agree with god that would not please god 

And that prayer will not be answered 

For example 

If your child ask you to buy pencil for studding 

Of cause you will buy 

But if your son asked money for the disco 

May be you will say “No’ 

Solomon didn’t ask money 

He did not ask power of authority, fame or some 

He ask God wisdom for rule his people with justice 

And that prayer please to God 

So God gave him all the blessings 

Like Solomon our prayer should please God 

Then God will answer our prayer and will bless us 

Giving thanks is the seed of blessing 

3rd Giving thanks make good result. 

You may know the story of Job 

(One day the Satan comes to God 

And the Lord asked him where have you been? 

And he said just roaming around the earth 

And Lord said do you know my servant Job? 

There is no one on earth as faithful and good as he is 

And Satan replied because you protect and bless everything he does 

If you take away all his things he will curse you  

Ok you test him. 

So Satan destroyed him and his family at once) 

But when he lost everything 

He didn’t complained God 

He says in the Bible Job 1;21 

I was born with nothing and I will die with nothing 

The Lord gave and now he has taken a way 

May his name be praised? 

When he is in trouble 

He says “Praise the Lord.” 

Brothers and sisters 

When we met little difficult situation 

How we blame God for it? 

How we complain to God? 

We forget to pray, forget the praise, even we forget God 

Brothers and sisters look at Job 

Even he tore his cloths in grief 

He didn’t complain to God 

He remained firm in his faith to God 

He praise to the Lord. 

And what’s the result? 

Bible says in Job 42; 12 

The Lord blessed the later part of Job’s life more than he had blessed first. 

He endured with patience under sufferings 

Even he praised the Lord under sufferings 

That’s why God blessed him abundantly after his suffering 

Bible says in James 5;11 

You have heard of Job’s patience and you know 

How the Lord provided for him in the end 

Ex)Jewish educate 

    Star, moon, sun. heaven 

Now I will conclude my sermon with one Scripture 

When Jesus preached in the Galilee 

A large crowed listen to the Jesus 

And it’s time to eat 

But they have only 5 breads and 2 fish 

In the Bible John 6; 11 

He took the bread and thanks to God and distributed it 

And what’s happened to them? 

Everyone ate plenty and it was left over. 

Brothers and sisters 

Giving thanks makes miracle 

Giving thanks makes blessings 

Giving thanks make happy life 

All by means I want all of you have an abundant life through thanks giving
