Who is Happy?

There were three dead bodies brought to the mortuary (funeral homes) 

But their faces were all smiling 

So the coroner (embalsamador) wonders and asked 

 “why they were smiling?” 

Then the  relatives answered one by one. 

1st dead body  died by heart failure because he got a jackpot in lottery 

That is why he died smiling 

2nd dead body also died by heart failure 

Because his son got a scholarship 

So he also died smiling 

“How about the last one?” asked the coroner 

So the relative said, “He died by lightning.” 

“By lightning, then why is he smiling?” 

He thought that somebody is taking his pictures so he smiled. 

Brothers and sisters 

Do you want to smile? 

Do you want happiness? 

Every one wants a happy life 

Everyone wish for happiness. 

Of course there is perfect happiness in heaven 

But also we should seek happiness in this world 

Then how could we live happiness? 

How can we have happiness? 

Which life is the happy life? 

1st they are happy who thanks 

Bible says in 1st Timothy 6;8 

If we have food and clothing we will be content with that 

It means humble attitude 

If we have 1000 pesos 

We give thanks to God and should be content with these things 

This attitude can make you happy 

But most of us are never satisfied with what we have 

If we have 1000 pesos we are not satisfied and we want more 

Even we have a million pesos we still complain and we want more 

This attitude never satisfied 

Can not have happiness 

Maybe someone would say 

“Oh! pastor, Mas Maganda mas marami Pera.” 

Yes that is right 

But what I mean is the attitude 

Some one has 1000pesos and he complains 

But some one has the same 1000 pesos 

and he is  giving thanks to God. 

Who has happiness? 

We have to know this one 

There is difference between greedy and wish 

The greedy is always complaining what he has 

And he wants some more 

But wish is giving thanks what I am and what I have 

And have a vision for the future 

Think about it brothers and sisters 

God will bless whom? 

Bible says in Psalms 37:4 

“Seek your happiness in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desire.” 

Will God bless the complainer? 

Of course not, He will bless the one who seeks happiness 

But Bible says in Psalms 37:8 

“Don’t give in worry and anger, it only leads to trouble.” 

You see? If you worry and complain, it only leads to trouble. 

Whatever circumstances we have , we should give thanks to God 

Then we will enjoy happiness in our lives. 

Brothers and sisters 

Before, we have a prayer meeting every Saturday evening 

in my house with some missionaries. 

That time we have to share each other three kind of thanks 

So I have to think which one I will share with them. 

When I think about it 

I found out a lot of things to be thankful for 

Brothers and sisters 

Shall we check what we have? 

For example. Family friends, church, home, school, job, etc. 

Maybe you will find out many things for giving thanks to the Lord.

Bible says, “Be joyful always.” 

This is a positive attitude for happiness 

We should have this attitude in mind. 

Then God will surely pour out peace and joy unto us. 

And we will enjoy happiness in this world. 

2nd. They are happy to obey 

When I was young, my father tells me, "You study very well so 

you will become a successful person someday." 

My father always say study, study but I say "Ayaw ko to study." (don't like to study.) 

So I go out and play with my friends. 

When I play outside, father says " Stop playing and come inside the house, its raining 

and you might get sick." 

But I disobeyed so eventually, I really got sick. 

Like this, sometimes we don't understand our parents why they tell us things to do 

Even if in our minds, we want to do it but why obey your parents 

Because they know better than us and because they know what is best for us. 

Like this , we have to obey our Father God 

Even if someimes we don't understand the word of God 

We just obey his command. 

In the Bible,  1 Kings 17:8-16 

Elijah was commanded by God to go to the town of Zarephath and he obeyd God. 

There he met a widow and asked her to give him water and bread 

The widow said that if she give him bread , it will be her last meal with her son. 

But even if that was the situation, she obeyed the Lord to give Elijah bread 

And because she obeyed even without understanding, God had promised her 

 that the bowl of flour will not run out and the oil of jar will not run out either. 

When Jesus told the people "Remove the stone, for he is not dead, he is just sleeping." 

The people obeyed and removed the stone. 

Then Lazaro woke up. 

Brothers and sisters, like this, if you obey the word of God 

You will experience miracle in your life. 

Even you don't understand sometimes 

Just obey the word of God 

Then you will have joy and peacein your life 

And you will enjoy happiness in this world. Amen.... 

3rd They are happy who pray. 

To pray is our privilege and our blessing 

If we use this gift, we live in happiness. 

To pray is the key to solve our problems. 

To pray is the answer for all matters. 

To pray is the way of blessings. 

God never turn away our prayer 

Bible says in Jeremiah 33:3 

“Call to me and I will answer you; 

I will tell you wonderful 

and marvelous things that you know nothing about.” 

After every effort, we have to pray for the fruit. 

Bible says in Proverbs 16:1 

“We may make our plans, but God has the last word.” 

It means God reign in this world 

It is said, “Man proposes, God disposes.” 

You know, after we do our best and plus God’s blessing. 

That time we will have a fruit. 

That time we have happiness. 

That’s why we need to pray 

Bible says in verse 3 

“Ask the Lord to bless your plans, 

and you will be successful in carrying them out.” 

Brothers and sisters 

Prayers changes situation 

Prayers changes the circumstances around you 

Especially prayer changes you. 

Change all through prayers. 

Brothers and sisters 

Look at the cross 

It’s a plus sign (+) 

He wants always to add blessings in our lives. 

Only we have to do is ask him through prayer.
